Mommy makeover in Dubai
A mommy makeover combines several surgical procedures — typically tummy tuck, breast surgery and liposuction — into a personalised plan that addresses changes pregnancy and breastfeeding can leave on the body. Performed by Dr Amna Belhoul, Consultant & Head of Plastic Surgery, in a surgeon-led clinic in Mirdif Hills.

What a mommy makeover is, and who it helps
Pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding can change the abdomen, breasts, and body contour in ways that exercise and diet alone may not address. A mommy makeover is a personalised combination of surgical procedures — most often a tummy tuck, a breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction — planned in a single consultation and typically performed in one or two surgical sessions.
There is no single, fixed combination. Your surgeon assesses which areas concern you most, your anatomy, your health and your recovery capacity, and designs a plan around that. Suitability, sequencing and risks are all discussed individually before any decision is made.
It is a body-contouring operation for those at or near a stable weight — not a weight-loss treatment. It is generally advised once you have finished having children and are no longer breastfeeding, so that results are not affected by a future pregnancy.

The procedures commonly included
The combination is tailored to each person. These are the three procedures most commonly included, and each can be adjusted to your anatomy and goals. Your surgeon discusses which applies to you at consultation.
Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
Removes excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen and tightens the abdominal muscles when they have separated — one of the most common concerns after pregnancy. A full or mini abdominoplasty is chosen based on the degree of laxity and your anatomy.
Breast lift or augmentation
Breastfeeding and weight changes often leave the breasts with reduced volume or altered position. A breast lift (mastopexy) addresses sagging; augmentation can restore or enhance volume; some cases combine both. The right option is assessed individually.
Liposuction
Targeted liposuction of areas such as the flanks, hips or thighs helps refine the overall contour when stubborn fat deposits remain despite a stable weight. It is used to complement the other procedures rather than as a standalone weight-loss measure.
Recovery and what to expect
Recovery from a mommy makeover is longer than from a single procedure, because several areas of the body are healing at the same time. Most people take two to three weeks away from a desk job, and avoid strenuous activity for around six weeks. Your surgeon gives you a detailed, personalised timeline based on exactly which procedures were performed.
Swelling and tightness across the treated areas ease gradually over weeks to months. You will wear a support garment as directed, and rest is important in the first days. Having someone at home to assist during the early days of recovery is strongly recommended.
In-clinic lymphatic-drainage sessions are available to help manage swelling and fluid accumulation as you heal — timed and coordinated by your surgical team.
- Two to three weeks off a desk job, typically
- Support garment worn as directed in the early weeks
- Swelling settles gradually over weeks to months
- In-clinic lymphatic drainage on your surgeon’s instruction
- Strenuous activity avoided for around six weeks
Mommy makeover — frequently asked questions
What does a mommy makeover include?
There is no fixed list — the combination is planned around your individual concerns, anatomy and health. A tummy tuck, breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction are the most common components, but not every patient needs all three. Dr Amna assesses what is appropriate for you at consultation.
How long after pregnancy or breastfeeding should I wait?
It is generally advised to wait until you have finished breastfeeding — usually at least three to six months — and your weight has been stable for several months. Surgery during or shortly after breastfeeding, or while weight is still changing, can affect outcomes. The right timing is assessed individually at consultation.
Is it done in one surgery or separate stages?
That depends on the procedures involved, how well your health supports a longer operation, and your surgeon’s assessment of what is safest for you. Some combinations can be performed together; others are staged across two operations. Dr Amna discusses the approach that is appropriate for your case.
How long is the recovery?

Swelling settles gradually over weeks to months. Your surgeon gives you a personalised plan based on your specific combination.
Can I still have children after a mommy makeover?
A mommy makeover does not prevent future pregnancies. However, a subsequent pregnancy can change the abdominal and breast results over time. This is why the procedure is generally advised only once you have finished having children. If you are considering more pregnancies, discuss this with Dr Amna at consultation.
How much does a mommy makeover cost in Dubai?
The cost depends on which procedures are included, whether they are performed in one or two sessions, and your individual case. After your consultation with Dr Amna we provide a clear, itemised quote covering all components. Message us on WhatsApp to arrange your consultation.
