What dermal fillers are, and what they can address
Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most commonly based on hyaluronic acid, that add volume to specific areas of the face and hands. They can restore fullness lost with age, soften folds and hollows, and shape contours such as the jawline or chin — without surgery and with no general anaesthesia.
Results vary by individual, the area treated, the product used and the volume placed. A filler consultation at ABC starts with a full facial assessment, so the plan suits your anatomy and what you want to achieve — not a fixed formula.

Areas we treat with fillers
The areas below reflect the most common requests. Your consultation will determine which, if any, are suitable for you and what approach makes sense for your face.
Cheeks & midface volume
Restoring volume to the cheeks and midface can lift and brighten the overall appearance, reducing the shadow that forms under the eyes and along the nasolabial folds when fullness is lost. The aim is a refreshed look, not an artificial one.
Jawline & chin definition
Filler placed along the jawline can sharpen and define the lower face, and chin filler can improve projection and balance facial proportions. This is a non-surgical approach to jawline and chin contouring, suited to those who want structural refinement without an operation.
Lines, under-eye hollows & non-surgical nose
Nasolabial and marionette lines can be softened with carefully placed filler. The under-eye area (tear trough) can be treated to reduce hollowness and tiredness, though it requires precision and is not suitable for everyone. A non-surgical nose reshaping option is also available in select cases, using filler to refine the nasal profile without rhinoplasty — suitability is assessed individually.
What to expect after fillers
Most people return to their day immediately or the following day. Mild swelling, tenderness and occasional bruising are common in the first day or two, particularly around the lips or under-eye area. These generally settle on their own within a few days to a week.
Final results settle once swelling has fully resolved. Because fillers are temporary, a follow-up review can be arranged to fine-tune if needed — and the effect can be adjusted over time.
- Minimal downtime for most areas
- Swelling and tenderness usually settle within days
- Avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure on the day of treatment
- Follow-up review available to fine-tune results
Dermal fillers — frequently asked questions
How long do dermal fillers last?
Duration varies by product, area treated and individual metabolism. Many hyaluronic-acid fillers last around 9 to 18 months in most areas, though this differs between individuals and locations. Under-eye and lip fillers may metabolise faster than cheek or chin filler. Your practitioner can give you a realistic expectation at consultation.
Which areas can be treated with fillers?
Common areas include the cheeks, midface, jawline, chin, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, under-eye hollows and hands. A non-surgical nose option is available in select cases. Not every area is suitable for every person — a facial assessment at consultation determines what, if anything, is appropriate for you.
Are dermal fillers reversible?
Hyaluronic-acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. This is one reason HA-based products are widely preferred — they offer a degree of reversibility that not all filler types share. Other filler types are not dissolvable, so the product used is discussed at consultation.
Does filler treatment hurt, and is there much swelling or downtime?
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic to make the injection more comfortable. Discomfort is generally mild. Swelling and occasional bruising are common and usually settle within a few days, though this can vary. Most people do not need time off, though you may prefer to keep the first couple of days free of social plans in case of visible swelling.
Will fillers look natural?
A natural outcome is the goal and the standard we plan toward. Results depend on the areas treated, the volumes used and individual anatomy. A conservative, anatomy-led approach helps avoid over-correction. Because Dr Amna has a surgical background in facial work, the planning considers overall facial proportions, not just the area being injected.
How much do dermal fillers cost in Dubai?
Cost depends on the area or areas treated, the product used and the volume required — each plan is individual. We provide a clear quote after your consultation with Dr Amna. Message us on WhatsApp to arrange your appointment.
